Why We Exist

We exist because today, in 2025, yet too many women struggle to make ends meet. This is especially true for single mothers who also have little recourse to overcome financial struggles.

To thrive as a society, we must fare well across a number of areas beyond individual income. Experts established that 12 independent, yet closely interrelated, personal, social, economic and environmental factors determine individual and population health (Ref. Public Health Agency of Canada's Social Determinants of Health). The more standard levels lack (or exceptions to societal norm are found) across factors, the higher the risk of being unhealthy.

Without our health, we cannot earn a decent income, let alone live a full life. It's a continuous cycle. It can be a great cycle when you have access to the advantages and resources needed to thrive. It can be a very bad cycle when you don't. Worst, the poverty cycle perpetuates and transcends generations.

We want to break the negative cycle for as many women as possible, locally and nationally, and enable their lives to flourish. This means tackling the issue on several fronts and from various angles. Because we are not whole without a holistic approach.

What We Do

The Wealthy Heart Foundation seeks to alleviate poverty among women and future generations of Canadians, as well as to provide relief to domestic animal shelters and support key environmental and healthcare initiatives.

Our team is committed to achieve the above by:

  • Delivering activities that fill needs where a gap is identified in the aid services already provided to Canadian women (and their families); and

  • (Over time) Orchestrating efforts so that existing organizations that align with our values have access to additional funds and resources to achieve their mission.

To ensure they are well established and benefit participants in a truly meaningful manner, our programs will be progressively implemented over the course of two-three years.

To do so, we are looking to expand our capacity through synergies with funders and potential partners, then strive to build productive relationships for a long-term positive impact.
